About

I was first exposed to climbing as a baby when my parents brought me to the crag at a few months old. Several years later, I was hooked, seconding my parents on a variety of routes in the Peak, as well as occasionally in North Wales or the Lake District. Since then, I have enjoyed climbing in a variety of forms, from competing nationally on the competition circuit to pushing my trad grade and dabbling in Scottish winter climbing. I love sharing this amazing multifaceted sport with people and helping them progress!

I’ve been instructing since 2017, for a variety of companies and people, including coaching several youth competition squads. Most recently I coached Durham Climbing Centre’s Academy who had an outstanding year with their best YCS results yet where every single team member made the podium in the North East, and got an invite to the national final!

I hold Mountain Training qualifications of Rock Climbing Instructor and Climbing Wall Development instructor, allowing me to teach a wide variety of activities. I am always seeking to improve my personal climbing performance, and so keep up to date with the latest research and coaching advice. A session with me will be exciting and fun, with an element of challenge!
